The UN Security Council has spoken with one voice on North Korea's recent ballistic missile launch, calling it a clear violation of UN resolutions.
Expressing deep concern after a closed door meeting on Thursday, the 15-nation council said it would hold consultations and respond appropriately to Pyongyang's latest provocation.
There were some concerns that China, North Korea's traditional ally,.. wouldn't stand by the statement,.. but Beijing did support it this time around.
North Korea fired two medium-range Rodong ballistic missiles into the East Sea in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Korea time.
It was the first time North Korea has fired mid-range missles since 2009.
