With concerns mounting about whether the familly reunions will take place it's the weather that may actually get in the way.
Nine snowplows are working around the clock to clear the site at the North's Mount Kumgang in time for the reunion event slated for February 20th to the 25th, but at least one more round of snowfall is expected before then.
A South Korean delegation crossed the border Tuesday morning to inspect the venue and facilities after the recent heavy snowfall.
An official at Seoul's unification ministry said that Mount Kumgang had seen over two meters of snow as of Monday but pointed out that reunions took place in similar conditions in the past.
