Iran confirms long-range missile testUpdated: 2014-02-11 10:15:33 KST
The Iranian military has successfully test-fired two new domestically made missiles.
On the state television, Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan said the long-range ballistic missile -- dubbed Bina or "insightful" in English -- has radar-evading capabilities and can be used as a laser-guided surface-to-surface missile.
Iran already possesses long-range surface-to-surface Shahab missiles with a range about 2-thousand kilometers that are capable of hitting Israel and several U.S. military bases in the Middle East.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who had reportedly only recently stated his opposition to further missile tests, also issued a congratulatory message for the successful test-firings.
