The 2014 Winter Olympic Games have barely begun in Sochi, but we've already seen some new rising stars emerge, and even some new Olympic sports.
For more on Sochi 2014, our Olympics correspondent Song Ji-sun joins us in the studio.
So Ji-sun, we just saw the 15-hundred medal race on the short track. This is an event in which Team Korea usually shines, but that was not the case this time around.
That's right. Just one Korean skater, Lee Han-bin, advanced to the final and he fell short of earning a medal.
Canada's Charles Hamelin wins gold with a time of two minutes, 14.9-8 seconds followed by Chinese Tianyu Han.
Naturalized Russian skater Victor Ahn, or Ahn Hyun-soo in Korean, won bronze.
The triple gold medalist at Torino 2006, showed that he is still a top level skater after leaving Korea following conflicts with the country's skating governing body and fellow skaters years ago.
Can we expect some medals from the women's squad in the coming days?
That's right. Korea's women's short track team also had a good start -- advancing to the finals with the fastest time.
The final for the 3-thousand meter relay is set for next Tuesday, the 18th.
