Now moving on to figure skating, where the first medal has been awarded in the team event. I understand a strong contender has emerged on the ladies' side.
Host nation Russia won the first gold medal in team figure skating on Sunday, beating out Canada and USA.
And Russia's 15-year-old skater Yulia Lipnitskaia has risen as a medal favorite earning a total of 2-hundred-fourteen points after free skating on Sunday with a clean performance.
How good is she? Should Kim Yuna be worried?
There are some points to note here.
First off, the first jump starting their programs is the same. Both are triple-triples -- with lutz and toe.
In terms of jumps, Kim's triples show bigger scale with longer distance and height.
Lipnitskaia's jumps are smaller. and she often jumps offs on the wrong edge, whereas Kim Yu-na always executes exact jumps.
But the Russian's strength is in her incredible spins -- showing off her flexibility.
As a former gymnast, her i-spin is almost vertical with her legs lifted up by her ear.
