President Park Geun-hye has urged North Korea NOT to cause any more sorrow for the families separated by the Korean War by canceling an upcoming round of reunions.
Speaking at the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae on Friday, the president said she was delighted that the North had accepted Seoul's proposal to resume the reunions., but warned that the North could cancel the event or change the schedule abruptly, using the Seoul-Washington joint military drills as an excuse.
She emphasized that obstacles have appeared whenever there have been good signs in inter-Korean relations in the past. and said the South should remain on full alert for any possible provocations from the North.
