President Park Geun-hye has called for an "educational revolution" to foster creativity in the nation's young people.
Speaking at a New Year's ceremony with members of the education sector, the president said that classrooms should be a place where students develop their dreams and talents, not one in which a premium is placed on competition and college admission.
President Park vowed to change the nation's education paradigm one step at a time, so students are free to be creative and develop both their intellects and personalities.
