In a move likely linked to North Korea's crackdown on people loyal to Kim Jong-un's recently executed uncle Pyongyang summoned back its ambassador to Sweden.
A Chinese diplomatic source says that Pak Kwang-chol and his wife made a short stop-over in Beijing on Friday before returning to the North Korean capital.
Jang Song-thaek leader Kim Jong-un's once powerful uncle was executed earlier this month on charges of treason.
Since Jang's execution, North Korea has also called back its ambassadors to Malaysia and Cuba.
