President Park says she is open for talks with N. Korea but not Japan
President Park says she is open to hold talks with North Korea but not Japan.
In an interview with the BBC, the president said she would be willing to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at any time but is not interested in holding talks for talks' sake.
She expressed her disappointment over Pyongyang's recent behavior citing the sudden cancellation in September of reunions for families separated since the Korean War.
When asked about the possibility of a summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe she said it would be pointless given Tokyo's refusal to acknowledge and apologize for its past atrocities.
