6 S. Korean detainees from N. Korea involved in posting North Korean propaganda online
It has emerged that some of the six South Koreans handed over by North Korea last Friday had a history of posting pro-North Korea messages and propaganda on the Internet before they traveled to the North.
Authorities investigating the case said Sunday that the six went to the North between 2009 to 2012, crossing the Yalu or Tumen River, both of which run near the border between North Korea and China.
The authorities say business failures and family problems may have triggered some of them to praise North Korea.
They were also said to be under the impression that they would be treated nicely once they made their way to North Korea, but they were, in fact, detained for years and interrogated.
