Hyundai posts first profit rise in Q3
Korea's top automaker Hyundai Motor posted its first quarterly profit rise in a year.
This, thanks in no small part to strong sales abroad that made up for losses at home.
Hyundai Motor and its affiliate Kia Motors said on Thursday that its net profit rose by about four percent to roughly 2.3 billion U.S. dollars when compared to the previous quarter.
But when comparing it to the same period last year, the figure shows a drop of nearly 11-percent.
The world's fifth-largest automaker, Hyundai has been losing steam domestically as the result of a faltering economy and drawn-out labor disputes with union workers.
