Defense Ministry to announce initial election meddling probe results Tuesday
The Defense Ministry is set to announce its initial joint-investigation results today on allegations its officials were involved in swaying public opinion against the opposition in the run-up to last year's presidential election.
The joint-investigation team, composed of military police, officials, and prosecutors, are said to have obtained testimonies that four military officials posted negative comments on-line about then-opposition-candidate Moon Jae-in.
The ministry has maintained a firm stance on the matter, saying it was not an order from the ministry but acts initiated by personal political preferences and beliefs.
The probe is likely to turn into a full-blown investigation led solely by the military prosecution.
