President Park calls for international regulations on cyber terrorism
Seoul is playing host to one of the biggest Internet conferences in the world over the next two days.
The Seoul Conference on Cyber Space kicked off earlier today, and has brought together over 15-hundred officials and experts from nearly 90 countries and 18 international organizations.
President Park Geun-hye attended the opening ceremony this Thursday morning, where she called for international regulations to prevent cyber terrorism, and to guarantee "an open and secure cyberspace."
The Korean leader said threats against cyber security, such as personal information leaks and the spread of malignant codes, are increasing in the current Internet environment.
The president called on the world to create a global cooperation network to find solutions for those challenges.
