Ruling party suggests main opposition party to jointly declare end to political wrangling
And on to a new development that could signal the start of a new period of cooperation
The ruling Saenuri Party has asked the main opposition Democratic Party to join in declaring an end to the political wrangling and pledging to redirect the focus to the livelihoods of the people.
At a meeting of senior party members earlier this Monday morning, ruling party floor leader Choi Kyung-hwan proposed that the two parties' leadership meet to make the announcement.
Choi also vowed to conduct a thorough and fair inspection of all government offices and affiliated organizations.
The DP spokesperson, however, rejected the offer for the leadership meeting, then called on the ruling party to focus on conducting a fair audit of the government.
