Pres. Park meets continues 'sales diplomacy' drive in Indonesia
President Park Geun-hye, who arrived yesterday in Jakarta, Indonesia, will continue her "sales diplomacy" during a three-day stay focused on boosting economic cooperation in the public and private sector.
On this Friday, the president met with a group of Korean and Indonesian business leaders, where she reportedly emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral trade and investment.
Later in the day, the president will tour the local office of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in Jakarta, which stands as a key example of cooperation in the defense industry.
The presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae says the president's choice of Indonesia as the second Southeast Asian country of this overseas trip, reflects her economic and strategic emphasis on the ASEAN region, which has emerged as the so-called "post-BRICs" bloc in reference to the economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China.
Indonesia is the largest economy among the 10 ASEAN member countries.
