Prosecutors say 2007 inter-Korean summit transcript doesn't exist in state archives
Prosecutors investigating a missing transcript from the 2007 inter-Korean summit announced Wednesday that the transcript does not exist at the National Archives of Korea.
The prosecutors said, however, the original transcript had been registered in the "e-Jiwon" electronic archive used by the presidential office under the Roh Moo-hyun administration, but was subsequently erased from the system.
Prosecutors say they found evidence of the erasure in a copy of the e-Jiwon system that the former president took with him after his term ended.
They say the original transcript may have been deleted because the summit minutes had not been tagged for transfer to the state archives.
However, prosecutors HAVE found an edited version of the transcript saved in the former president's copy of the e-Jiwon system.
