During this meeting, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reaffirmed their commitment to ending North Korea's nuclear program saying that the North has no other option but denuclearization.
They also agreed to approach the North's nuclear issue with the aim of breaking the "vicious cycle," a reference to the regime's repeated pattern of making promises in negotiations and then breaking them.
Kerry also hailed Beijing's recent decision to ban exports of weapons materials to North Korea and re-emphasized the importance of China's role in dealing with the North.
