 S. Korea, U.S.: N. Korea must show change of attitude for resumption of six-party talks
Top nuclear envoys from South Korea and the United States have reaffirmed their stance that North Korea must first show sincerity that it will give up nuclear ambition before the six-party talks on the North's denuclearization can resume.
Following an hour-long meeting in Seoul earlier this Tuesday, Cho Tae-yong and Glyn Davies said they held fruitful discussions on ways to deal with Pyongyang, without giving any further details.
Davies stressed that the North must show willingness to take steps it has already promised to take adding that the six-party talks will not be productive when Pyongyang is trying to be accepted as a nuclear weapons state.
The mulitlateral dialogue, involving the two Koreas, the U.S., China, Russia and Japan has been stalled since late 2008.
