Ammonia leak at Shanghai refrigeration plant kills 15, injures 26
A liquid ammonia leak at a cold storage facility in Shanghai has left 15 people dead and injured 26 others.
According to local authorities on Saturday, the leak occurred at 10:50 a.m. local time at Shanghai Weng's Cold Storage Industrial Company in eastern Shanghai.
Six of the injured are in critical condition.
China, the world's second largest economy, has a poor workplace safety record.
Most of the industrial accidents in China occur in the coal mining industry.
More than 13 hundred people died last year from explosions, mine collapses and floods.
