N. Korea engaged in major construction project at long range rocket test site
North Korea is reportedly building something huge at its long-range rocket launch facility on the west coast.
This is according to the U.S.-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins University, which reviewed recent satellite imagery.
The institute says the images suggest that there are six construction sites at the location, with the most noteworthy being on a 45-by-65-meter plot of land to the west of the Tongchang-ri launch site.
The think-tank said it is too early to tell what the purpose of the construction sites is, but speculated that it may be a second launch pad and that the North may be preparing for another long-range missile test.
Along with the launch pad, the think-tank said it has also detected a radar station nearby and parking space for a transporter erector launcher for a mobile rocket system.
