Hyundai Motor worker stage 2-day partial strike over wages, conditions
Labor union members from Korea's largest automaker, Hyundai Motor, will go on a two-day partial strike starting today.
The Hyundai Motor union says its workers' demands include higher wages and bonuses, as well as an improvement in working conditions for part time workers and extending the retirement age.
All members of the 45,strong union will down tools for two hours on Tuesday and Wednesday, after which they will resume talks with Hyundai on Wednesday.
Longer strikes could be planned if those talks don't bear fruit.
Union members of the Hyundai's affiliate Kia Motors will also meet on Tuesday, to discuss whether they will go on strike.
