Seoul, Washington to begin joint military drills Monday
This all comes while South Korea and the United States are getting ready to conduct their regular joint military drills.
Will this affect the current momentum in dialogue between the two Koreas?
Seoul and Washington will begin their annual Ulchi Freedom Guardian exercise tomorrow.
This is a 12-day long, computer-aided military drill which mobilizes around 50-thousand South Korean forces and roughly 30-thousand American servicemen.
While there are voices of concern that the upcoming military exercise may kill the newly-found momentum in dialogue, most experts say that North Korea will refrain from making too much of a fuss.
They say that while the North may criticize the exercise itself, it will most likely keep it a separate issue from the recent progress made in inter-Korean relations.
