SJ's standing by at the sports center with more on the swimming sensation. Hello
Guys, when athletes or celebrities say, "I couldn't have done it without the fans," they sometimes really mean it. That's the case here with Park Tae-hwan, who believe it or not didn't have enough funding for training.
The 24-year-old Olympic swimmer, who has been training with his own money, got help from his fans, who donated money, so that he could train.
Since March, over 70 million won, or roughly 60 million U.S. dollars have been donated by his fans allowing him to go train in Australia for three months for the National Sports Festival in Incheon.
'The Marine Boy' will be leaving for Australia on July 19th, with four others to train with Coach Michael Bohl.
