Nuclear envoys from S. Korea, China meet in Beijing
South Korea's top nuclear envoy Cho Tae-yong began talks with his Chinese counterpart Wu Dawei in Beijing on this Friday to discuss North Korea's nuclear ambitions.
The meeting comes just days after South Korea, the U.S. and Japan held a trilateral meeting in Washington, where they reaffirmed their joint commitment to end Pyongyang's nuclear programs.
Cho is expected to explain the agreements the three countries reached in Washington and stress the need for Beijing to urge Pyongyang to abide by its international obligations before engaging in dialogue.
The two officials are also expected to discuss the recent proposals for talks that North Korea has been making to related countries.
