The country's nuclear watchdog on Saturday approved the resumption of operations at one of its nuclear reactors and this could provide some relief in the power shortage problem Korea is facing.
The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission approved the reactivation of the Hanul 5 nuclear reactor in North Gyeongsang Province after its maintenance test showed positive results.
The operation of the Hanul 5 reactor was halted since early last month for a regular inspection.
