BBC criticized for undercover N. Korea trip with university students
The BBC is coming under fire.. for sneaking three journalists into North Korea with a group from the London School of Economics.
John Sweeney, a reporter for the BBC's Panorama program, and two others posed as PhD students to gain entry into North Korea in order to carry out secret filming.
The university says the BBC "deliberately misled" the group to underplay the scope of the reporting, endangered the students and jeopardized the university's work in other politically sensitive nations.
It is demanding the BBC to pull the plug on the documentary, set for broadcast on Monday, and issue an apology.
The BBC says however, it will not apologize nor withdraw the program saying the students were warned about the dangers of traveling with journalists.
It also said the documentary is in the public interest as it is on a country so few people understand.
