China's annual parliamentary session has ended after overseeing the transfer of political leadership to President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang.
The formation of a new cabinet and new legislature were also completed.
In a keynote speech Sunday morning, President Xi pledged to achieve what he called the Chinese dream.
China's Xinhua news agency cited Xi as saying he would fight corruption after which he called on the people to reject hedonism and extravagance.
