    U.S. Fruit Shipments to Korea Soar after KORUS FTA

Korea has been importing more American fruit. since a free trade agreement with the United States went into effect early last year.
The agriculture ministry said Thursday that imports of oranges and cherries in particular had JUMPED last year after the FTA went into effect on March 15th.
Shipments of oranges to Korea rose to around 150 million U.S. dollars, an increase of more than 30 percent from the same period a year earlier.
Imports of cherries soared almost 80 percent to 80 million dollars.
