South and North Korea Held 3 Rounds of Unofficial Military Talks Before December Rocket Launch: Official
Military officials from North and South Korea held three rounds of unofficial talks at the Joint Security Area in Panmunjeom before the North's rocket launch in December.
A South Korean government official said that Pyongyang demanded an end to the psychological warfare between the two Koreas, including propaganda leaflets, while Seoul proposed the two stop slandering each other.
The official also said that Seoul tried to prevent Pyongyang from launching the rocket.
The talks were the first unofficial meetings between the two Koreas since official talks in February of 2011 that followed the shelling of Yeonpyeong Island and the sinking of the warship Cheonan.
