North Korea has threatened South Korea with "final destruction" saying it could take further steps after its third nuclear test last week.
Speaking at the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva Tuesday North Korean envoy Jon Yong-ryong quoted a proverb saying, "a newborn puppy knows no fear of a tiger" adding South Korea's erratic behavior would herald its final destruction. The official insisted North Korea does not make empty threats saying Pyongyang will take the toughest measures against foreign aggressors and violations of its sovereignty in the future.
The comments drew quick criticism from other nations, including South Korea, France, Germany and Britain.
The British representative said such language was "completely inappropriate."
