#S. Korea Conducts Large-scale Military Exercise to Better Prepare for North Korea's Provocations#
Every arm of the South Korean military is participating in large-scale exercises to better prepare for aggressive actions by North Korea.

The South Korean Navy recently wrapped up its annual exercise but Pyongyang's nuclear test meant exercises were reinstated nationwide.

The extra training will run through February 16th with a variety of drills planned on the East and West Sea.

Over 20 battleships and submarines are in battle formation on the lookout for unusual activity near the border.

Destroyers loaded with Aegis missiles are running training exercises on how to take out North Korea's nuclear facilities.

The South Korean Air Force is also conducting a joint exercise with the United States Air Force.

Over 150 fighter jets are simulating real wartime tactics.

Even the Army's Special Warfare Command is taking part.

Special Forces are holding covert military operations that could be used while infiltrating key targets in North Korea.

"We are on emergency stand by 24/7 and if North Korea provokes we are ready to punish them swiftly."

The South Korean Army also held a drill with K-9 self propelled artillery and multiple launch rockets to test their firepower.

Defense Minister Kim Kwan-jin visited a missile base Thursday and told troops North Korea would continually try and provoke South Korea.

He said the military should be prepared to counterattack sharply and swiftly should Pyongyang stage yet another provocation.
