Transition Team Chief Kim Steps Down as Nominee for Prime Minister
In a stark decision President-elect Park Geun-hye's first pick to join her new government resigned today.
The nominee for prime minister stepped down following brutal allegations of ethical lapses.
Transition team spokesman Yoon Chang-jung quoted Kim Yong-joon , who currently serves as the chief of Park's transition team, as saying that he was stepping aside because he had caused concern to the people and trouble to President-elect Park.
Kim who served as onstitutional Court chief was hit with a series of allegations after being nominated last week including real estate speculation and suspicions about how Kim's two sons were given waivers for their military service.
This is the very first time in the nation's constitutional history that a prime minister-nominee has stepped down.
