President-elect Park Appoints Transition Team Chief as Prime Minister
President-elect Park has nominated her transition team chief Kim Yong-joon as the prime minister in her incoming administration.

"I believe that Kim will be the most qualified person to open a happy future for the people, by setting up the nation's law and principles, wiping out the public's distrust and anxiety about social safety, and protecting the underprivileged members of society."
Park described Kim as a person who has always stuck to his beliefs and stood up for the underprivileged as a judge and throughout his life.
She also stressed that Kim has led the transition team in a rational way by discussing issues big and small with each committee member.
The 74-year-old Kim is well known for having overcome his disability, after suffering from polio since a child and was the first person with a disability to become a Supreme Court justice,.. in 1988.
He became the chief justice of the Constitutional Court in 1994 and served as the co-chairperson of President-elect Park's campaign committee.
In accepting the nomination, the former chief justice promised to do his best to support the president and supervise the government ministries in accordance with the Constitution.
"Kim will take office as prime minister after getting parliamentary approval following a confirmation hearing at the National Assembly.
And there are more nominations on the way. President-elect Park is highly likely to appoint her chief of staff and other senior presidential secretaries before the end of the week."
