Park Geun-hye Administration to Unveil Structure of Presidential Office This Week
President-elect Park Geun-hye is expected to announce this week how she intends to shape the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae for her incoming administration.
Park's presidential staff is likely to be smaller than the current one, in line with her pledge to balance power with the prime minister. There is speculation Park will create a control tower overseeing foreign relations and security matters within the presidential office.
Last week the president-elect announced a new lineup for her ministries.
That needs parliamentary approval, but the structure of the presidential office is solely up to Park. The president-elect is also likely to unveil her nominee for prime minister shortly, given that she still has to nominate the rest of her cabinet.
