The head of the Japanese delegation for the six-party talks, Shinsuke Sugiyama, met with South Korean nuclear
envoy Lim Sung-nam in Seoul on Thursday afternoon.The discussions centered mainly on ways to coordinate policies
to address North Korean issues. NEGOTIATORS CALL ON UNSC TO TAKE ACTION OVER N. KOREA'S MISSLE
LAUNCH} Stressing the importance of close cooperation between the two countries during government transitions,
they agreed that the UN Security Council,.. on behalf of the international community,.. should take action sooner
rather than later, over North Korea's missile launch last month, whch violated UN resolutions. Shinsuke Sugiyama,

member of the council since the beginning of this month. So it’s even important for us to have a close context one
of the important council members, like ROK government."He also added North Korea's abduction of foreign
nationals, including Japanese citizens,.. is an important matter for Japan,.. and he asked for policy cooperation on
the matter. Thursday's meeting came one day after, President-elect Park Geun-hye held talks with U.S. Assistant
Secretary of State for East Asia Kurt Campbell.During the meeting, Park stressed that the North's nuclear
development program was unacceptable, and said she would closely cooperate with the U.S. on the matter. Special
Representative for North Korea Policy Glyn Davies will also visit South Korea next week for bilateral diplomatic policy
coordination.
