Tourists to be Banned from Entering Imjingak Upon North's Threat Updated: 2012-10-21 00:00:00 KST

Tourists will be restricted from entering Imjingak Pavilion, a tourist park located just south of the inter-Korean border, due to a recent threat from North Korea.
A South Korean military official says from 8 a.m. Monday morning, the police will limit tourist access to the park, and some 8-hundred residents near the area will be taking shelter in the town's evacuation center.
North Korea has threatened to attack South Korea if activists proceed with a plan to send leaflets across the border.
On Monday morning a group of North Korean defectors are scheduled to release balloons carrying propaganda leaflets criticizing Pyongyang's hereditary succession of power.
