Five Dead after Coast Guard Ship Capsizes in Waters Off Jeju
Two Chinese and three Filipino crewmen are dead after the Korean Coast Guard ship they were on capsized in waters off Jeju Island on Thursday afternoon.
The Malaysian freighter vessel that was initially carrying the crew capsized first.
Then a Korean Coast Guard ship was dispatched, and rescued the crew before capsizing as well.
Bad weather and waves of up to four meters are being blamed for both incidents.
In addition to the five foreigners dead, a Korean maritime policeman has also been hospitalized.
