3-Way Race for December Presidential Election Begins

3-Way Race for December Presidential Election Begins

Ahn Cheol-soo hit the campaign trail running on Thursday.
Ahn, who jumped into the race as an independent on Wednesday, started off his official schedule as a presidential candidate by making a visit to the Seoul National Cemetery.
He paid respects to late former presidents Rhee Syng-man, Park Chung-hee and Kim Dae-jung as well as the late founder of Korean steel giant POSCO, Park Tae-joon.
There, Ahn stressed the importance of learning lessons from history, saying that politicians must follow through on past successes, while righting the wrongs.
Also on Thursday, ruling Saenuri Party presidential candidate Park Geun-hye met with workers at outsourced drama production companies, at a studio set in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province where she listened to suggestions on how to improve the working environment and treatment of the production crews.
Meanwhile, the main opposition Democratic United Party's presidential candidate Moon Jae-in attended the party's general meeting in the morning for the first time since his nomination.
Moon made it clear that there is no need to call on Ahn to join forces with him, at least not yet.
He said the longer Ahn stays in the race, the more favorable it will become for him.
