Potential presidential candidate Ahn Cheol-soo is set to announce whether he will run for the nation's top seat as early as next week.
Ahn's spokesperson Yoo Min-young told Arirang News today that the university professor and a software tycoon would announce his decision after the Democratic United Party concludes its primary process.
The main opposition's Moon Jae-in is poised to win his party's nod in the last regional primary in Seoul this Sunday, barring the need for a run-off.
Ahn has been running neck-and-neck with the Saenuri Party's presidential nominee Park Geun-hye in a hypothetical two-way race even though he's never clearly declared his presidential bid.
