Korea Suicide Rate 2.6 Times Higher Than OECD Average
Recent data shows that the suicide rate in Korea is more than TWICE the OECD average.
According to OECD data released by the Ministry of Health and Welfare on Sunday, a day ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day, there were 34 deaths by suicide for every 100-thousand people in Korea in 2010, up 5 deaths from a year earlier.
Coming in 2.6 times higher than the OECD average Korea tops the list of 34 OECD countries by a distance.
Hungary ranked second with 23 deaths, followed by Japan and Slovenia.
