Weather: Typhoon Tembin Affects the Korean Peninsula

Weather: Typhoon Tembin Affects the Korean Peninsula

Less than 48 hours after being hit by Typhoon Bolaven, Typhoon Tembin brought us another round of heavy downpours and strong winds

Right, We want to go straight to our Ji Myung-gil at the news center, who has been tracking the path of the storm.
Hello Myung-gil, what's the latest[Reporter : Soa] Hi, guys! Typhoon Tembin is getting weaker and weaker, but it IS still here. It's currently located around 50 kilometers away from Andong and should move upwards towards the eastcoast near Sokcho by midnight. We're expecting the typhoon to disappear for good within the next 6 hours.

Glad to hear that. Nevertheless, there have been reports of casualties and property damage in the nation, like what we saw after Bolaven swept across Korea on Tuesday.

[Reporter : Soa] Yes, Sean. This small typhoon is definitely not one to be underestimated, especially because it brought us a lot of precipitation, which in turn lead to a lot of flooding.
The typhoon has left two people dead, and three injured. Also nearly 50 people were forced to evacuate their homes. Power outages were reported in several regions, and flights and ferries have been cancelled as well. Meanwhile, the Coast Guard said it has suspended its search for the missing Chinese fishermen whose boats capsized in waters off Jeju on Tuesday during Typhoon Bolaven.

That's the latest on the weather and Typhoon Tembin. Back to you guys!
