It's Monday once again and we have previews of arts and culture events with our Michelle Kim. She has a lot of new items for us today, so let's get right down to business.
[Reporter : ] Hello Conn-young
So what do you have for us today[Reporter : ] Well, first I'll tell you about two late summer thrillers in Korea that are keeping film fans on the edge of their seats, and afterward I'll tell you about another horror film event in London. But first, let's take a look at this.
The film "Red Lights" tells the story of two paranormal researchers -- Dr. Margaret Matheson, played by Sigourney Weaver, and her assistant Tom Buckley, played by Cillian Murphy -- as they try to expose fraudulent claims of legendary psychic Simon Silver by finding out more about the phenomena called "red lights."
When Matheson dies suddenly after confronting Silver, it is up to Buckley to continue the investigation on his own. But the evidence he finds increasingly points him away from Silver and back to himself.
Actor Cillian Murphy talked about his character in an interview.
[Interview : Cillian Murphy, Actor] "So called psychics, mentalists, so on and so forth -- they sometimes go on to the field to disprove this paranormal activity"
The film "My Neighbor" isn't like other thrillers, where the point of the story is to find out who the killer is. Instead, this film shows us a murder and tells us who the killer is from the beginning. The rest of the film unfolds as the killer's neighbors slowly piece together clues about his identity.
Kim Yunjin from the U.S. TV show "Lost" stars as the mother of the first victim.
The film is based on the popular webcomic of the same name by artist Kang Full. Audiences are kept on the edge of their seats as the neighbors come closer to the truth about the man living in their midst.
