Ruling Saenuri Party's Cash-for-nomination Scandal Widens

The scope of the ruling Saenuri party's cash-for-candidacy scandal is getting bigger.
On top of allegedly bribing a former nomination committee member Hyun Ki-hwan, Representative Hyun Young-hee is now accused of providing illegal political funds to the party's influential figures, including supreme council member Lee Jung-hyun.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that they've started looking into the case adding that Hyun is suspected of giving illegal funds to at least two more senior members of the party.
Meanwhile, homes of Hyun Ki-hwan were raided on Wednesday to find evidence supporting the bribery scandal.
Although Hyun Ki-hwan claims to have never been in contact with the alleged money deliverer, news reports say prosecutors have secured evidence against him.
