Kim Young-hwan, South Korean Activist for North Korean Human Rights to Sue China Through the International Criminal Court

Kim Young-hwan, South Korean Activist for North Korean Human Rights to Sue China Through the International Criminal Court

South Korean activist Kim Young-hwan plans to sue China through the international criminal court for the torture he suffered while he was detained in China.
The committee that helped release Kim from the charges said Sunday that it is possible to sue China through the International Criminal Court and even file a lawsuit from within the Chinese mainland.
Kim claimed he suffered physical abuse and sleep deprivation during his detention.
He has refused to elaborate on the details, only saying Chinese officials told him to keep silent about having been tortured.
However, the committee said, if the Chinese government apologizes and promises to make efforts to prevent similar cases from reoccurring Kim may withdraw his plan.
