Korean Auto Exports to Grow in H2, Domestic Demands to Fall
Korea's rising car exports are expected to cover lackluster demand at home in the latter half of this year.
The Ministry of Knowledge Economy said Thursday most auto executives and experts predicted that the automobile industry would fare better than other industries in the second half of this year, thanks to growing overseas demand.
Domestic demand, however, is expected to fall compared to last year.
The Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association has upgraded its outlook on car exports by three-percent to 3.3 million units, but lowered its forecast on domestic sales by four-percent to 1.6 million units.
