North Korea has received about 1.4 billion U.S. dollars worth of foreign investment as of the end of last year according to the state's Committee of Investment and Joint Venture.
Seoul-based YTN reported Tuesday that an investment information package distributed by the committee to potential foreign investors last month reveals that Pyeongyang has received investment funds from more than 15 countries and signed investment protection agreements with 28 nations.
It also shows that the regime has a total of 38 trade representative offices around the world with six based in China.
Experts say the unveiling of such information reflects the regime's strong economic confidence and its willingness to open up to the global market.
