The International Atomic Energy Agency will conduct a special inspection of the Gori-1 Nuclear Power Plant in southeastern Korea starting this Monday.
This comes following a power failure at the plant in February and subsequent attempts by some senior engineers to cover up the incident.
The probe is also in response to safety concerns voiced by residents in the region.
Some have asked that the power plant, which houses South Korea's oldest nuclear reactors, be closed down.
The Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Company said to ensure the safety and international standards of the facility, the extensive investigation will continue until June 11th.
