Meanwhile, Korea and Japan have reportedly tried to come up with a new way to deal with the so-called comfort women issue, or women forced into sexual slavery by Japanese troops during World War TWO.
According to diplomatic sources Japan has offered what it says are THREE solutions to the comfort women issue including an apology to Korean comfort women.
Although the exact details haven't been clarified yet, the Korean government has reportedly rejected Japan's proposals. saying they're NOT enough to completely resolve the problem.
The two countries' formal government-level talks on the proposals have yet to take place.
Japan has recently been seeking ways to support the 'comfort women' through the Asian Women's Fund, but Korean civic groups claim Japan uses the fund as a way to avoid admitting its responsibility to the victims.
