President Lee Myung-bak is set to hold an hour-long special news conference this Wednesday morning, where he will openly talk about his four years in office as well as his plans for the remainder of his term.
Above all, President Lee is expected to criticize the parties' populist pledges saying they could hurt Korea's national interests and make straightforward remarks on the opposition camp's election promises against "the Korea-U.S. FTA, March's nuclear security summit in Seoul, the construction of additional nuclear power plants and the Jeju naval base."
Also, the president is likely to offer his sincere apology for the contentious issues involving his aides and relatives as well as the controversial purchase of land for his retirement residence in southern Seoul.
We will bring you the live coverage on President Lee's news conference at 10 a.m. Korea time.
