Fukushima No.2 Reactor Temperature Exceeds Limit of 80C
Tokyo Electric Power Corporation said that temperature readings at one of the crippled Fukushima nuclear reactors have exceeded the limit of 80 degrees Celcius set by Japan's new safety regulation.
TEPCO confirmed that one of three thermometers on the No.2 reactor at the nuclear plant indicated gradual heating this month and reached 82 degrees Celcius on Sunday marking a new high since the reactor attained a cold shutdown in December.
While stressing that the reactor has not gone critical TEPCO officials said it is possible the water flow is unstable and added that it will increase the amount of water injected as a coolant by THREE tons per hour and pour ONE ton of boric acid.
